Skull Appreciation Day 2012 Blog Hop

So... this is my 2nd Blog Hop... 

In my Facebook account, I have some jewelry designer/maker/artisan friends. Accidentally, i saw one of my friend 'liked' a page called Skull-a-Day.  And like usual, I always interested with anything related to skull. Curiously, I tried to open the page.. and then of course 'like' it. I browsed the contents... and acknowledged that this page shared a link : Smeared Ink is hosting blog hop for Skull Appreciation Day!

It was just about a week ago I participated in my first blog hop. Then i thought... why not just try another one? Besides, skull is one of my favorite things in the world! I am more than just ready to do my 2nd blog hop! ;)

Some ideas popped up on my mind.. and finally i decided to make a choker & bracelet set. Using blue [one of my favorite colors besides black & white] howlite skull beads, stainless choker, copper jump rings & chains, antique brass flying bat charms, and some more components, here are the results...

I call them Seven Skulls.

It's Cocktail Time !!! - part 2

So... it's the time... ;)

It's already May 26th here in Indonesia... so I think it's my time to show my work .. ;)

The kind of cocktail that I got is TEQUILA SUNRISE, which I'm glad cause the color is not pink... [gosh... pink is just my weak point... ;)]

Since this is my first Blog Hop, so I just made whatever I could with the color of Tequila Sunrise. I made 2 pcs of accessories, and they're actually not a set.. not connected one with another..

Here's the first one :

A pair of earrings, made from yellow plastic roses, transparent orange glass beads & antique brass findings. 

And the second one :

A medium size necklace using glossy varnished clay roses with each color represents the ingredients of Tequila Sunrise itself. Maroon for the grenadine syrup, yellow for freshly squeezed orange juice, and orange for orange slice as the garnish. Other materials are antique brass.

Well, I really cross my fingers now.. hoping that both of them could meet the requirement for this Cocktail Hour Blog Hop.. ;)

It's Cocktail Time !!!

This morning, finally, I received the email that I've been waiting for like a week.
It's an email from Amy Freeland of Copper Diem Blogspot. The email is about Cocktail Hour Blog Hop. You can read what it's all about here.

My cocktail will be Tequila Sunrise [yay! it's not pink!! ;p].

The Tequila Sunrise is a cocktail made in two different ways, the original (tequila, crème de cassis, lime juice and soda water) and the more popular concoction (tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup). Originally served at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, where it was created by Gene Sulit in the 1930s or 1940s,the cocktail is named for the way it looks after it has been poured into a glass. The denser ingredients (cassis or grenadine) settle, creating gradations in color that mimic a sunrise. The more popular version was invented by Bobby Lazoff and Billy Rice at the Trident restaurant in Sausalito California in the early 1970s[taken from Wiki].

One of the recipes that I can find in the net is :

Ingredients

• 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger tequila
• 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
• ice cubes
• 1/2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger grenadine syrup
• 1 slice orange, for garnish
• 1 maraschino cherry for garnish

Directions

1. Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice. Fill a chilled 12 ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient). Garnish with a slice of orange, and a maraschino cherry.

Jadi kan ceritanya udah punya blog... trus mo ngapain...?

Baiklah... di update sebulan sekali aja deh...

Bulan ini mo posting apa yaa... hmm... i heart macro ...? [ikut2 blog tetangga... xixixix...]

Jadi ceritanya punya temen baru yg mo bikin e-book, trus dia minta temen2nya untuk nyumbang foto untuk e-book-nya. Practically, belom tentu semua foto yg dikasih ke dia bakal dipake... but lately I just want to participate in something.... [that's why i decided to attend the Bead Soup Blog Party... sampe bela2in bikin blog.. ;p]

So here are the photos i gave to her...

Ini foto kuncup kembang sepatu koleksi nyokap yang tumbuh dengan riang gembira beramai2 di halaman depan rumah. Foto ini diambil pas baru beli digicam Kodak M530 pengganti digicam Olympus [entah versi berapa] yang mendadak rusak dan males dibenerin... ;p - Dan ini awalnya belajar memfungsikan fitur macro yang ternyata tersedia juga di digicam pocket. Menurut seorang teman yang udah pakar di bidang potopotoan, kata dia siiihh... fotonya okeh... blurnya dapet banget katanya... [alhamdulillaaahh... ]

Nah klo yang satu ini, masih pake kamera Olympus yang rusak itu... waktu lagi liburan di Bali, abis kekenyangan nyobain Bebek Bengil, iseng2 ngeliat ke jalanan, ada pemandangan yang menggelitik jari untuk menjepretkan si Olympus. Ini jaman2 masih ngga ngerti klo di pocket digicam juga ternyata ada fitur macro atau panning atau whatever it is [ga ngarti istilah2nya, maklum, amatiran menahun kqkqk..]. Jadi foto ini diambil dengan fitur otomatis aja... tapi ngga nyangka hasilnya ternyata lumayan. Dengan touch up sana sini pake Photoscape [touch up-nya cuman di pewarnaan doang, biar lebih dramatis aja... selebihnya ngga diapa2in... emang begini adanya], dan... voila! 

Nah, begitulah isi blog iseng2 ini untuk bulan ini...

Berhubung pengen ikutan Bead Soup Blog Party, jadi deh bikin blog... padahal sebenernya ngga pengen2 amat punya blog juga, wlopun kadang suka pengen juga punya blog klo liat blog2 orang lain... [haiyyyaaah! dasar labil!]

Jadi blog ini sebenernya cuman buat reveal beads2an... itu juga klo jadi ikutan.... hehehe...
